Product Description
Atmospheric Sophistication: Elevate Your Home with Camaro Smoked Brushed Elm
If you are looking to create an interior with a sense of depth, drama, and contemporary flair, Smoked Brushed Elm from the Polyflor Camaro range is an exceptional choice. This 2mm thick LVT masterfully captures the essence of fumed timber, featuring a striking grey palette with charcoal undertones and a delicate, brushed grain texture. Unlike natural elm, which can be temperamental and difficult to maintain, Smoked Brushed Elm provides a high-definition, luxury aesthetic that remains remarkably durable and easy to care for—making it a favourite for stylish Irish homes and modern urban apartments.
The Designer’s Canvas: Creative Freedom with Glue-Down LVT
What truly distinguishes Smoked Brushed Elm is its status as a premier design option floor. Because this is a permanent glue-down LVT, you are not restricted by the rigid linear patterns of standard “click” systems. At Floorstore Direct, we love seeing our customers push the boundaries of interior design. With this floor, you have the flexibility to:
-
Fit in Multiple Directions: Lay the planks diagonally to expand the visual space of a hallway or create a bespoke focal point using a double-plank border.
-
Incorporate Borders and Feature Strips: Frame your room with a decorative perimeter or use Polyflor feature strips between planks to create a “ship-deck” effect or a subtle grout line that highlights the fumed wood grain. This level of customisation ensures that your floor is a unique, one-of-a-kind reflection of your personal style.
Engineered for High-Performance Irish Living
Smoked Brushed Elm is designed to withstand the rigours of a busy household while maintaining its atmospheric beauty. As a 100% waterproof floor, it is the ultimate practical solution for moisture-prone areas like kitchens, bathrooms, and utility rooms where real timber would inevitably warp.
To achieve a flawless, professional finish, the Camaro glue-down method requires a subfloor that is perfectly level, smooth, and entirely free from moisture. We always recommend a professional moisture test and a high-quality smoothing compound to ensure the adhesive bonds perfectly. Furthermore, this floor is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems (up to 27°C), ensuring your home stays snug and warm during those damp Irish winters.

Ask a Question
1. Does the "fumed" grey tone make a room feel darker? While Smoked Brushed Elm has a deep, moody palette, its brushed texture and cool grey tones actually help to create a sophisticated, neutral backdrop. When paired with light-coloured walls and modern furniture, it creates a stunning contrast that makes a space feel high-end and designer-led rather than simply "dark."
2. Why must the subfloor be moisture-free before installation? Glue-down LVT requires a bone-dry surface for the adhesive to cure and bond correctly. If there is residual moisture in a concrete screed, it can cause the planks to lift or "bubble" over time. At Floorstore Direct, we always advise a professional moisture reading before installation to guarantee a lifetime of stability.
3. Is this floor suitable for high-traffic hallways with pets? Absolutely. The 0.3mm wear layer combined with a Polyurethane (PUR) reinforcement makes it highly resistant to the daily "wear and tear" of pet claws and heavy footfall. It is a durable, practical alternative to real wood that won't require the sanding or sealing that natural elm would demand.
Recommend Adhesive
Our Polyflor LVT Flooring must be directly glued to the subfloor. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Polyflor Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet. You can view all our Cleaning & Maintenance products here.
