1. What exactly is "Greige" and why is it so popular for Rosedale Oak? Greige is the ultimate neutral. It combines the cool tones of grey with the inviting warmth of beige. In Rosedale Oak, this means the floor won't look "too cold" on a cloudy Irish day, nor will it look "too yellow" under artificial evening lights. It is the most versatile colour for matching with both navy kitchens and neutral living room furniture.
2. Can I install Rosedale Oak over existing underfloor heating? Absolutely. Because this LVT is glued directly to the subfloor, it is an excellent thermal conductor. There is no air gap (unlike click floors), allowing the heat to transfer efficiently into your room. It is perfectly safe for use with underfloor heating systems up to 27°C.
3. Is a glue-down floor better than a click floor for large open-plan areas? Yes, especially for large areas. A glue-down floor like Rosedale Oak does not require expansion gaps at doorways or around kitchen islands. This allows for a completely seamless look across your entire ground floor, providing a much more "architectural" and high-end finish.
Recommend Adhesive
Our Polyflor LVT Flooring must be directly glued to the subfloor. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Polyflor Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines.
