Product Description
Rustic Coastal Elegance: Discover Camaro Boathouse Oak
If you are looking to capture the weathered, sun-bleached charm of a lakeside retreat or a contemporary coastal cottage, Boathouse Oak from the Polyflor Camaro range is an inspired choice. This 2mm thick LVT masterfully replicates the character of aged timber, featuring a sophisticated grey oak colour tone with a distinctively rustic style. With its realistic knots, grain depressions, and reclaimed wood aesthetic, it provides a textured, high-end foundation that adds immediate soul and history to any Irish home—all while offering the modern resilience of luxury vinyl.
The Designer’s Edge: Creative Freedom with Glue-Down LVT
One of the primary reasons professional interior designers across Ireland favour the Polyflor Camaro collection is the unparalleled creative freedom it provides. Because Boathouse Oak is a permanent glue-down floor, you are not restricted by the linear limitations of standard “click” systems. At Floorstore Direct, we love seeing our customers push the boundaries of design. With this floor, you have the flexibility to:
-
Fit in Multiple Directions: Lay the planks diagonally to draw the eye across a room or create a bespoke focal point using a double-plank border.
-
Incorporate Borders and Feature Strips: This is a true “design option” floor. You can frame your room with a decorative perimeter or use Polyflor feature strips between planks to mimic traditional ship-deck caulking or grout lines. This level of customisation ensures that your floor is a unique, one-of-a-kind reflection of your personal style.
Engineered for High-Performance Irish Living
Boathouse Oak is designed to withstand the rigours of a busy household while maintaining its stunning appearance. As a 100% waterproof floor, it is the ultimate practical solution for moisture-heavy areas like kitchens, bathrooms, and utility rooms where real timber would inevitably fail.
To achieve a flawless, professional finish, the Camaro glue-down method requires a subfloor that is perfectly level, smooth, and entirely free from moisture. We always recommend a professional moisture test and a high-quality smoothing compound to ensure the adhesive bonds perfectly. Furthermore, this floor is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems (up to 27°C), ensuring your home stays snug and warm during those damp Irish winters.

Ask a Question
1. Does the rustic "Boathouse Oak" texture make it harder to clean? Not at all. While the floor looks like weathered, rustic wood, the surface is treated with a high-quality Polyurethane (PUR) reinforcement. This creates a smooth, protective layer that prevents dirt from becoming ingrained. A simple sweep and a damp mop are all you need to keep the grey oak tones looking fresh.
2. Why must I check for moisture in my subfloor before gluing down this LVT? Glue-down LVT requires a bone-dry surface for the adhesive to cure correctly. If there is residual moisture in a concrete screed, it can cause the planks to lift or "bubble" over time. At Floorstore Direct, we always advise a professional moisture reading to guarantee a lifetime of stability for your floor.
3. Can I use feature strips to create a "ship-deck" look with this floor? Absolutely! Boathouse Oak is particularly suited for the ship-deck aesthetic. By inserting a dark charcoal or black feature strip between the planks, you can accentuate the rustic, coastal vibe, making it look exactly like the decking of a luxury vintage boat.
Recommend Adhesive
Our Polyflor LVT Flooring must be directly glued to the subfloor. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Polyflor Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet. You can view all our Cleaning & Maintenance products here.
