Product Description

Modern Coastal Charm: Discover Camaro Bayswater Oak

If you are looking to capture the cool, breezy aesthetic of a contemporary coastal retreat or a sophisticated urban apartment, Bayswater Oak from the Polyflor Camaro range is an exceptional choice. This 2mm thick LVT masterfully replicates the weathered beauty of limed timber, featuring a refined grey oak colour tone with subtle silver highlights and soft grain detailing. It provides a bright, neutral foundation that makes any room feel more expansive and airy, offering a high-end finish that is far warmer and more comfortable underfoot than real hardwood or cold ceramic tiles.

A Designer’s Dream: The Versatility of Glue-Down LVT

One of the primary reasons professional interior designers in Ireland favour the Polyflor Camaro collection is the creative freedom it provides. As a permanent glue-down floor, Bayswater Oak serves as a versatile canvas for bespoke interiors. This is a “design option” floor, meaning you aren’t limited to a standard plank layout. At Floorstore Direct, we often help customers elevate this floor by incorporating feature strips and borders. You can introduce a “grouting” strip in a charcoal tone for a bold ship-deck effect or a chalky white strip for a seamless, sun-bleached look. This level of customisation ensures your flooring is a unique reflection of your personal style.

Technical Precision for High-Performance Irish Living

Bayswater Oak is engineered to withstand the rigours of modern life while maintaining its pristine appearance. Because it is a glue-down product, it offers superior structural stability and acoustic performance.

  • 100% Waterproof: This floor is entirely impervious to moisture, making it the premier choice for kitchens, bathrooms, and utility rooms.

  • Polyurethane (PUR) Reinforcement: The surface is treated with a high-quality PUR coating, ensuring it is exceptionally easy to clean and highly resistant to daily scuffs and stains.

  • Underfloor Heating Compatible: It is an excellent thermal conductor, making it perfect for use with underfloor heating systems (up to 27°C) to keep your home cosy throughout the Irish winter.

Ask a Question

1. Does the grey "Bayswater Oak" finish show up dust and pet hair easily? Actually, the multi-tonal grey grain of Bayswater Oak is incredibly practical. The subtle "limed" effect and textured grain are fantastic at diffusing light, which helps to mask light dust, pet hair, and dried water spots far better than a very dark or solid-coloured floor.

2. Why is subfloor moisture testing critical for this glue-down floor? Since Bayswater Oak must be adhered directly to the subfloor, any residual moisture can prevent the glue from bonding correctly. This can lead to planks lifting or "bubbling" over time. We always recommend a professional moisture check and the use of a smoothing compound to create a glass-like finish before installation.

3. Can I install Bayswater Oak over my existing kitchen tiles? You cannot glue LVT directly onto old ceramic tiles as the grout lines will "telegraph" through to the surface. However, you can go over tiles if you first apply a suitable primer and a deep-fill smoothing compound to create a perfectly level, flat surface.

Recommend Adhesive

Our Polyflor LVT Flooring must be directly glued to the subfloor. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Polyflor Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet. You can view all our Cleaning & Maintenance products here.
