Product Description

Refined Grandeur: Transform Your Interior with Camaro Astoria Oak

If you are looking to capture the deep, soulful character of traditional fumed timber, Astoria Oak from the Polyflor Camaro collection is a peerless choice. This 2mm thick LVT masterfully replicates the rich, multi-tonal beauty of smoked oak, offering an elegant balance of warm honey undertones and sophisticated charcoal graining. It provides a stately, high-end foundation that anchors any room with a sense of permanent luxury, making it a favourite for prestigious Irish renovations seeking the charm of real wood without the delicate maintenance requirements.

A Designer’s Masterpiece: Creative Freedom with Glue-Down LVT

What sets Astoria Oak apart is its status as a premier design option floor. Because this is a permanent glue-down LVT, you are not restricted by the linear limitations of standard “click” systems. At Floorstore Direct, we pride ourselves on helping customers unlock the full creative potential of the Camaro range. With this floor, you have the flexibility to:

  • Fit in Multiple Directions: Lay the planks in a traditional staggered pattern, a diagonal layout to expand a narrow hallway, or even create a bespoke focal point.

  • Incorporate Borders and Feature Strips: Frame your room with a decorative perimeter or use Polyflor feature strips between planks to create a “ship-deck” effect or to mimic a traditional grout line. This level of customisation ensures that your floor is a unique, one-of-a-kind reflection of your personal style and architectural vision.

Engineered for the Demands of Modern Irish Living

Astoria Oak is designed to withstand the rigours of a busy household while maintaining its stunning, smoked aesthetic. As a 100% waterproof floor, it is the ultimate practical solution for moisture-heavy areas like kitchens, bathrooms, and utility rooms where real timber would inevitably warp or stain.

To achieve a flawless, professional finish, the Camaro glue-down method requires a subfloor that is perfectly level, smooth, and entirely free from moisture. We always recommend a professional moisture test and a high-quality smoothing compound to ensure the adhesive bonds perfectly. Furthermore, this floor is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems (up to 27°C), ensuring your home stays snug and warm during those damp Irish winters.

Ask a Question

1. Does the "Smoked Oak" style make a small room feel smaller? Actually, the rich tonal variation in Astoria Oak can add depth and character to a smaller space. When laid diagonally or with contrasting feature strips, it draws the eye to the corners of the room, creating an illusion of width. Pairing it with light walls and ample lighting creates a stunning, high-contrast designer look.

2. Why is subfloor moisture testing so critical for a glue-down installation? Glue-down LVT requires a bone-dry surface for the adhesive to cure and bond correctly. If there is residual moisture in a concrete screed, it can cause the planks to lift or "bubble" over time. At Floorstore Direct, we always advise a professional moisture reading before you begin your project to ensure a lifetime of stability.

3. Is Astoria Oak suitable for homes with underfloor heating? Absolutely! Astoria Oak is an excellent thermal conductor. Because it is glued directly to the subfloor, there is no air gap (unlike floating floors), meaning the heat transfers more efficiently into your room. It is perfectly safe for use with underfloor heating systems up to 27°C.

Recommend Adhesive

Our Polyflor LVT Flooring must be directly glued to the subfloor. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Polyflor Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet. You can view all our Cleaning & Maintenance products here.
