Product Description

Discover the refined elegance of a Smoked Oak Herringbone, a premium engineered wood floor that exudes timeless character and sophistication. Available exclusively from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s number one destination for engineered flooring and herringbone floors, this 18mm masterpiece captures the natural beauty of oak in a rich, smoked tone that adds warmth and depth to any interior space.

Each block of Smoked Oak Herringbone is expertly smoked, brushed, and finished with a matt lacquer, creating a floor that blends luxurious aesthetics with practical performance. The smoking process deepens the natural grain of the oak, infusing it with rich brown and charcoal undertones that highlight the wood’s natural variation. The brushed textureenhances its organic appeal, adding subtle depth and texture underfoot, while the matt lacquered finish protects the surface from everyday wear and tear, allowing it to maintain its elegant appearance for years to come.

Designed to be both beautiful and durable, this 18mm engineered herringbone floor offers the stability and reliability needed for Irish homes. Its multi-layered construction ensures strength and resilience, minimising expansion and contraction caused by changes in temperature and humidity — making it an excellent alternative to traditional solid wood. To ensure a flawless, long-lasting installation, this floor must be glued directly to the subfloor, providing a stable base that perfectly showcases the intricate herringbone pattern.

The Smoked Oak Herringbone’s deep, natural tones make it the perfect choice for homeowners and designers seeking a sophisticated, versatile flooring option. It pairs beautifully with everything from neutral, minimalist décor to rich, traditional interiors. The smoky colour adds warmth to open-plan spaces and contrasts beautifully with lighter walls or furnishings, while the classic herringbone design brings a sense of heritage and craftsmanship that never goes out of style.

Recommend Adhesive

Our Engineered Herringbone must be directly glued to the subfloor. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Herringbone Floors is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
