Available exclusively through FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s leading destination for solid floors and hardwood flooring, this luxurious black oak plank delivers timeless elegance, remarkable durability, and a striking design that instantly transforms any space.
Each board is crafted from 100% solid black oak, measuring 20.5mm thick and 140mm wide, giving it both a substantial presence and exceptional strength. The rich, dark colouring adds depth and sophistication, while the Variation Grade celebrates the raw beauty of nature. Expect to see natural knots, sapwood streaks, and beautiful tonal differences that bring personality and warmth to your interior. This isn’t a manufactured look — it’s authentic wood at its finest, with every plank telling a different story.
At FloorStore Direct, we know that style is personal, which is why the Junckers Black Oak Variation Plank is available in four beautiful finishes: matt, silk matt, ultra matt, and oiled. The matt and ultra matt finishes offer a modern, understated sheen that works perfectly in contemporary homes, while the silk matt and oiled options enhance the wood’s richness, adding warmth and a soft, natural glow. Each finish is designed to protect your floor while showcasing the intricate grain and texture of real oak.
When it comes to installation, this floor offers outstanding flexibility. It can be glued directly to the subfloor for maximum stability and acoustic comfort, or floated using Junckers’ unique clip system — a clever innovation that makes installation fast, clean, and efficient. What’s more, this is one of the very few true solid hardwood floors that can be safely installed over underfloor heating, as long as the manufacturer’s guidelines are followed. That means you can enjoy both the luxury of natural oak and the modern comfort of radiant heat — the perfect pairing for Irish homes.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive
Our Junckers Flooring can be fitted either with clips and underlay as part of Junckers unique floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
If you choose to float your floor the underlay you you must use Junckers c;ips, polyfoam underlay and sylvafix adhesive for the header joints. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. All solid floors must be left for a minimum of 2-3 weeks in the room to acclimatise. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Junckers Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Solid Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
