Product Description

Artisan Smoked Oak engineered flooring is a striking and character-rich option for homeowners seeking the depth and warmth of real wood combined with modern reliability. Supplied by FloorStore Direct, this premium 14mm thick European white oak engineered floor offers timeless appeal with a contemporary edge, making it ideal for a wide range of Irish interiors.

Smoked, Brushed & Matt Lacquered Finish

The defining feature of Artisan Smoked Oak is its smoked, brushed, and matt lacquered finish. The smoking process naturally darkens the oak, intensifying the grain and creating rich, earthy tones that add sophistication and warmth to any space. Brushing removes the softer fibres from the surface, enhancing texture and grain definition, while the matt lacquer protects the wood without adding unwanted shine. The result is an engineered oak floor that looks refined, feels tactile underfoot, and performs exceptionally well in everyday living.

Premium European White Oak Construction

Crafted from high-quality European white oak, this engineered flooring delivers the authentic appearance of solid hardwood floors with improved dimensional stability. Engineered wood floors are specifically designed to handle fluctuations in temperature and humidity, making Artisan Smoked Oak a practical and dependable choice for Irish homes, whether in new builds or renovation projects.

Rustic Grade with Natural Character

As a rustic grade engineered oak floor, Artisan Smoked Oak proudly showcases the natural characteristics of real timber. Knots, colour variation, and sapwood are intentionally present, ensuring every board is unique. These features add depth, warmth, and individuality, creating a lived-in aesthetic that suits both modern and traditional interiors. This is hardwood flooring with genuine personality and lasting appeal.

Flexible Installation Options

This engineered hardwood floor can be glued directly to the subfloor for a solid, permanent installation or floated over a suitable underlay, offering flexibility for apartments, renovations, and time-efficient installations. Its versatility allows it to perform beautifully in living rooms, hallways, bedrooms, and open-plan spaces.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive

Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.

If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Artisan Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
