Product Description
Urban Warmth: Discover Art Select Sabbia Ceppo
If you are looking to combine the raw, architectural edge of industrial design with a soft, inviting palette, Art Select Sabbia Ceppo by Karndean is the ultimate flooring solution. This premium 3mm thick LVT captures the intricate, multi-tonal aggregate detail of traditional Italian conglomerate stone, reimagined in a stunning cream colour concrete tile effect. It offers a sophisticated, Mediterranean-inspired aesthetic that brings a sense of light and space to any interior. Unlike real concrete or stone, which can be prone to cracking and feels cold underfoot, Sabbia Ceppo provides a warm, resilient surface while retaining the high-end textures of polished mineral rock. It is the perfect choice for those seeking a sleek, modern finish for their Irish home.
The Art Select Advantage: Bespoke Design Flexibility
The Art Select collection is widely considered the pinnacle of Karndean flooring, specifically engineered to replicate natural materials with breathtaking accuracy. Because Sabbia Ceppo is a permanent glue-down LVT, it serves as a versatile canvas for creative homeowners. At Floorstore Direct, we specialise in helping our customers explore the extensive design options this range provides:
-
Custom Inlays: You can choose to install these tiles with Karndean feature strips to create a realistic “grout line” in contrasting charcoal or silver, or lay them edge-to-edge for a seamless, minimalist stone look.
-
Bespoke Borders: Define your kitchen island or hallway perimeter with a decorative border to add a tailored, professional finish to your room.
-
Versatile Orientations: These tiles can be fitted in multiple directions—from a traditional grid to a dynamic diagonal layout—allowing you to manipulate the sense of scale within your home.
Engineered for High-Performance Irish Living
Sabbia Ceppo isn’t just a visual masterpiece; it is a technical powerhouse. As a 100% waterproof floor, it is the premier practical solution for moisture-heavy areas like bathrooms, wet rooms, and busy kitchens where traditional materials might fail.
To achieve a flawless, professional result, the installation process is vital. This floor must be adhered to a subfloor that is perfectly level, smooth, and entirely free from moisture before the adhesive is applied. This permanent bond provides superior structural stability and a quiet, solid feel underfoot—unlike floating floors that can often “click” or move. Furthermore, it is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems, ensuring your home stays snug and warm during those damp Irish winters.

Ask a Question
1. What makes the "Ceppo" design different from standard concrete tiles? Sabbia Ceppo replicates the look of "Ceppo di Gré," a specific Italian stone characterized by embedded pebbles and aggregate. This gives the floor more character and tonal depth than a flat concrete tile, making it excellent at masking minor dust or footprints in high-traffic areas.
2. Why is the 3mm thickness and 0.7mm wear layer important? The 3mm gauge represents Karndean’s most robust construction. The heavy-duty 0.7mm wear layer provides the highest level of protection against scuffs, stains, and indentations. This ensures your floor maintains its "just-installed" look even in the busiest Irish households.
3. Why must this floor be glued down rather than installed as a click system? A glue-down installation creates a permanent, monolithic bond with the subfloor. This eliminates the "hollow" sound sometimes associated with floating floors and allows for the use of borders and feature strips, which are impossible to incorporate into a standard click-lock system.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Karndean Design Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
