1. Is the grey colour of Pavimento Grigio easy to keep clean? Absolutely. The stone-effect texture and mottled grey tones are incredibly effective at diffusing light and masking light dust or minor scuffs. Combined with Karndean’s protective K-Guard+ surface technology, a simple sweep and damp mop are all you need to keep it looking pristine.
2. Why is the 3mm thickness and 0.7mm wear layer significant? The 3mm gauge represents Karndean’s most robust construction. The heavy-duty 0.7mm wear layer provides superior protection against scratches and indentations, making it far more durable than standard 2mm LVT products—perfect for high-traffic areas and busy family homes.
3. Can I install this floor myself or do I need a professional? Because Pavimento Grigio is a glue-down product that requires a meticulously prepared, level, and moisture-free subfloor, we highly recommend professional installation. This ensures the permanent bond is secure and that any design strips or borders are perfectly aligned for a high-end finish.
Recommend Adhesive
LVT can shrink, expand, or lift under pressure if not properly bonded. Uzin KE66 is the adhesive we recommend as it is a fibre reinforced adhesive, which means it holds the tile firmly in place, preventing movement even in high-traffic areas or when exposed to temperature fluctuations. Please note all subfloors must be 100% clean, dry and level before LVT installation. Check out our adhesives, levelling compounds and primers here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Karndean Design Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
