1. Does the light cream colour of Caliza Classico show up dirt easily? Actually, the natural limestone-effect textures and subtle tonal shifts are incredibly practical. Unlike a flat, solid cream tile, the intricate patterns in Caliza Classico help to diffuse light and mask light dust. Combined with Karndean’s protective K-Guard+ surface technology, a simple damp mop is all you need to keep it looking pristine.
2. Why is the 3mm thickness and 0.7mm wear layer important? The 3mm gauge represents Karndean’s most robust construction. The heavy-duty 0.7mm wear layer provides superior protection against scuffs, stains, and indentations, making it far more durable than standard 2mm LVT products—ideal for high-traffic areas and active family homes.
3. Why must this floor be glued down rather than installed as a click system? A glue-down installation creates a permanent, monolithic bond with the subfloor. This eliminates the "hollow" sound sometimes associated with floating floors, offers better thermal conductivity for underfloor heating, and allows for much more intricate design layouts with borders and feature strips.
Recommend Adhesive
LVT can shrink, expand, or lift under pressure if not properly bonded. Uzin KE66 is the adhesive we recommend as it is a fibre reinforced adhesive, which means it holds the tile firmly in place, preventing movement even in high-traffic areas or when exposed to temperature fluctuations. Please note all subfloors must be 100% clean, dry and level before LVT installation. Check out our adhesives, levelling compounds and primers here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Karndean Design Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
